PARADE – ANOTHER PLANNING IS POSSIBLE

Saturday, 28. May 2016

A choreographed parade, rounded off with a public hearing bearing the motto “Another planning is possible.” The parade started at Karolinenplatz/Messehallen with questions originally raised by the Hamburg Chamber of Architecture: Why does Hamburg need a congress centre, moreover in such a central location, which remains unused for most of the year? Wouldn’t it be better located on the outskirts?

The parade ended at the unoccupied Axel Springer House, a former publishing house. With its 90,000 square meters, this site is a perfect example of another kind of housing plan.
